Application of foam

Adapter | NBS | 2K-Systeme

Adapter

The substrate must be clean, solid, and free from dust or grease. Align, wedge, and mount components or elements according to specifications. Cover adjoining areas (e.g. with Ramsauer Abdeckband = masking tape). Moistening the substrate is necessary  - in addition it is recommended to moisten the fresh foam from the can.

Shake the can well for approx. 10 times before use. The can temperature must be at least +15° C, and should not exceed +25° C. Work only at an outside temperature between + 5° C and + 35° C.

Adapter O-Plus Remove protective cap and screw adapter onto the opening. Hold can with the valve pointing downward and start applying the foam.

Dose foam carefully and moderately. The foam volume will increase by 2 to 3 times. The tipping valve is opened by gentle finger pressure against the adapter. The foam quantity is controlled by the finger pressure on the adapter.

The foam cures with air and ambient humidity. Do not cut or spread the fresh foam, it spreads by itself and fills the gaps. After the foam has cured corrective action can be taken by cutting or sawing.

If the can is not used up completely cut off approx. 3 cm from the adapter hose end before re-using the PU-foam can, in order to be able to continue applying foam.

NBS

Cover adjoining areas (e.g. with Ramsauer Abdeckband = masking tape). Moistening the substrate is necessary - in addition it is recommended to moisten the fresh foam from the can.

Shake the can well for approx. 10 times before use. The can temperature must be at least +15° C, and should not exceed +25° C. Work only at an outside temperature between + 5° C and + 35° C.

Remove protective cap. Screw can onto the NBS-gun (do not tighten excessively!) and start applying the foam.

Leave can on the NBS-gun after use. Remove can only when it is totally empty. Install a new can IMMEDIATELY since otherwise the NBS-gun will get clogged. Applying foam by means of a gun makes careful dosing of foam easier.

The foam cures with air and ambient humidity. Do not cut or spread the fresh foam, it spreads by itself and fills the gaps. After the foam has cured corrective action can be taken by cutting or sawing.

Always leave a can mounted onto the gun. For cleaning the gun use Ramsauer NBS-cleaner “817“. Do not save in the wrong place! Flush well and for a long time. Do not apply force to remove the can from the adapter. If NBS-guns do not work any more due to clogging, disassemble and clean gun or replace it.

2K-Systeme

The substrate must be clean, solid, dry, and free from dust or grease. Align, wedge, and mount components or elements according to specifications. The can temperature must be at least +10° C, and should not exceed +25° C. Cover adjoining areas (e.g. with Ramsauer Abdeckband = masking tape). Do NOT moisten the substrate! since  Ramsauer 2-component PU-Foam cures independently of moisture.

Do not activate can at temperatures above +25°C - danger of bursting due to reaction heat! Remove protective cap. Screw the nozzle onto the can. Turn plate on the can floor away from the can floor approx. 6 times in the direction indicated by the arrow, in order to activate the cartridge with the curing agent.

Important: shake can immediately and forcefully for at least 20 times with the valve pointing downward - shake more often at low temperatures - in order to mix the two components.
After activating let the compound mature for 30 seconds, and apply subsequently.

Hold can with the valve pointing downward. WHEN MIXED CORRECTLY THE FOAM IS PINK in type 820 and GREEN in type 840! If required shake forcefully again. Without adding the curing agent 2-component PU-Foam reacts like one component PU foam with retarded curing.

Heat production indicates that the reaction is in progress. The can must be empty in approx. 8 minutes.

Do not cut or spread the fresh foam, it spreads by itself and fills the gaps. After the foam has cured (approx. 20 min) corrective action can be taken by cutting or sawing. The foam reaches its full load bearing capacity after approx. 120 min.
